GROUP SHOOTS

THE CURSE IS REAL!

Branding Group Shots

Hey there, Tathiana here, your art director, Brand photographer, and your competition's best-kept secret.

let's spill the tea on the infamous "group picture curse."

So, picture this (pun intended): You're a savvy business owner, eager to update your brand images. What's on your wishlist? A classic group photo, right? Hold on, before you fall victim to the group shot curse, let's talk real talk.

The truth is, nobody's landing on your website in hot pursuit of your stellar group pic. It's not a make-or-break deal for potential clients. However, if that group photo is a hot mess – mismatched makeup, clashing clothing – oh, they'll notice.

In a group shot, you don’t know who's who. Who does what? Is everyone looking their best?

You know the struggle of getting everyone to look good in a group selfie? The same will apply at the office. It's like herding cats, and there will always be THAT one who looks, well, a bit off.

and then ....after all that time and money spent, someone quits and that picture is no longer relevant.

Now, I'm not talking about a financial group team of 4 or 5 people, or a business with a couple of partners; In those cases, go for it!

I'm talking about bustling medspas with receptionists, injectors, estheticians – an office, hair salons..., real estate brokers with teams of 10 … etc

Here is a golden nugget:

Don't put all your branding eggs in one group picture basket. Break the team into smaller groups or dynamic duos, caught in the act of doing what they do best. In that case, if you need a redo because someone quit? easily solved.

Think snapshots of the receptionist welcoming with a smile, the esthetician strolling down the corridor with an assistant – capturing those day-to-day vibes.

Trust me, these are way more impactful than an average group picture or gallery of boring headshots.

Candid glimpses into your team's hustle and daily flow are a gold mine.

Business owners, protect your investment – avoid headaches and drama. Focus on lifestyle shots that unveil the heartbeat of your business.

And to my fellow photographers, listen to your clients but save them from wasting that hard-earned money on a group pic that may become outdated before the ink on the contract dries.

Cheers to capturing the real spirit of your brand without falling victim to the curse!
